Flight Officer Harry Elward Edeburn, Jr (#T-060794) was born 28 December 1919 in Brookville, Pennsylvania to Harry E and Margaret H (nee Park) Edeburn. He enlisted 3 July 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He eventually ended up as part of the 349th Bomber Squadron, 100th Bomber Group, Heavy which was based at Thorpe Abbots Field, England. He was part of the Sumner H Reeder crew serving as copilot. On 6 September 1943, Flying B-17 #42-25957, the Reeder crew was on a mission to Stuttgart, Germany. As they began the bomb run, four fighters attacked. 20mm shells riddled the nose section and the cockpit. Edeburn was killed immediately, and Reeder was wounded. Russell Engel, the navigator, and Peter Delao, the bombardier also received severe wounds.

Edeburn is buried at Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial in Coton, South Cambridgeshire District, Cambridgeshire, England.
