WHITE RIVER JUNCTION - Irwin H. Ehler, 88, of North Conway, N.H., died Saturday, Feb. 27, 1988, at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1899, in New York City, the son of William H.J. and Harriet (Cary) Ehler. He served in the Navy during World War and moved to New Hampshire from Connecticut approximately 40 years ago.

He was a retired electrician. He was a member of the Legion Post 71 in West Haven, Conn.

He leaves his wife, Elizabeth (Zimski) Ehler of North Conway; two sons and their wives, Alden "Duke" and Emily of Essex Junction and Irwin W. "Bill" and Lois of Shelton, Conn.; nine grandchildren, Linda, Debra, Donna, Mike, Sharon, Bill, David, Jae and Fred James; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and one aunt in Connecticut.

A memorial service was held in the chapel at the Veterans Hospital in White River Junction Saturday, March 19, at 3 p.m., Chaplain William A. Nelson officiating. The Knight Funeral Home of Junction was in charge of arrangements.
