I was about six years old and Uncle Junior and Winford took me fishing in a small green wooden boat. We put in early that saturday morning at the pond in Antioch NC. Uncle Junior was paddling the boat and Uncle Winford was preparing my cane pole to fish. We were about fifty feet off shore when I notice the SNAKE swiming towards the boat. I was siting in the middle of the boat and I began to step out of the boat when Uncle Junior grab me. I pointed at the snake and Uncle Junior called for Uncle Winford to shoot the snake. He shot the snake with one shot and Uncle Junior returned to the shore. He told Uncle Winford to take me home before I could drown myself and they didn't want to answer to Ruth if anything happen to me. This was my first and last fishing trip with my uncles…BJL
