Wallace was married to Maldonetta Cowan in Eufaula, Barbour Co., AL, on 22 Mar. 1854, barely one year before his death. On 14 Jun. 1859, Maldonetta married her second husband, James McClure Buford, also in Eufaula. Maldie is buried in River View Cemetery, Portland, OR.
