When I was little my papa (Selmar) would get in his old ford pick up and take me to the little gas station and buy me a chocolate soldier. He would always tell me this was our little secret. I could not have been more than 3 or 4 but I do remember. This was my favorite part of my summer to go visit my memme and my papa. His pet name for me was his little nina.

Some of the stories that I have heard about my papa are so funny. One is when my uncles and aunts went to visit. Papa would take them to gather bottles off the side of the road. They would all pile up into the back of the truck and my uncle Gary would say that papa drove so slow that he would jump out of the back of the truck and run up besides my papa and wave to him and ask if he wanted to race.
