YATES CITY - Brittney R. Brashers, 22, of Yates City died on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at the Denver Health Medical Center in Denver, Colo.

She was born on May 6, 1987, in Peoria to Barry and Suzanne Breymeier Brashers. Her mother preceded her in death.

Surviving are her father, Barry; one brother, John of Yates City; one sister, Sara Brashers of Ohio; and her grandfather, John Brashers of East Peoria. Also surviving are three aunts, Cathy Bushell of Peoria, Brenda (Doug) Hunter of Metamora and Teresa Brashers of Galva; and two uncles, Louis Breymeier of Farmington and Phil Brashers of St Petersburg, Fla.

She graduated from Farmington High School in 2005.

She was serving in the U.S. Air Force. She served a tour in Iraq and received an achievement medal for her service. She was currently stationed at the Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., with Chaplin Thomas Fussell officiating. Military rites will be held immediately following the service
