I am Kathryn Ann Traum. My late father, Donald Henry Traum was Robert “Bob” John Traum’s older brother. There is a brother in the middle who is still living in Ohio. Bob served with our air force and his two brothers served in our army. My my son is serving in the air force as of this writing.

My Uncle Bobbie was my godfather and he was my favorite uncle. He was so very much loved by his family and especially his nieces and nephews.

He was born on February 3, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio. His parents were Henry Joseph Traum and his wife, Anna Vanko Traum.

He went to Vietnam at age 19 and he was never the same when he returned home to Cleveland, Ohio. I still have his embroidered jacket, that he had made for himself, while in Vietnam and the doll he brought back for me. He also brought back a box full of beautiful silverware for my parents. I still have a couple of letters he wrote to my parents while he was in Vietnam.

He died of a brain aneurysm at the age of 33 on September 16, 1978 in Parma, Ohio.

He never married nor did he have children.
