Robert V. Conlon

PISMO BEACH Robert Vincent Conlon, 72, died Oct. 13, 1990, in a San Luis Obispo hospital.

A Memorial Mass will be said on Friday, Oct. 19, at 1 1 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Covina. Interment will be private. Mr. Conlon was born Dec. 6, 1917, in Oakland. He was a resident of Covina for 59 years before retiring in San Luis Obispo County in 1980. He owned and operated Bob Conlon s Tire Service in Covina for 34 years.

Mr. Conlon served in the United States Navy Aircorps during World War II, attaining the rank of lieutenant senior grade. He was awarded the distinguished Flying Cross for valorous service in the South Pacific.

Mr. Conlon was a member of the Covina Lions Club, the Sacred Heart Parish, and the South Hills and San Luis Obispo Country Club.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Shirley Conlon of Pismo Beach; three sons: Mike Conlon of Glendora, Tim Conlon of San Clemente and Tom Conlon of Rohnert Park; four daughters: Patti Bailey of Lawai, Hawaii, Kathleen Conlon of Santa Barbara, Peggy Fancier of Salinas and Kelly Frazer of San Jose; two brothers: Joseph Conlon of Pompano, Fla., and Edmond Conlon of Glendora; two sisters: Mary Meeker of Arcadia and Laurene Bissell of Newport Beach; and 15 grandchildren.

Friends who wish may remember the Covina Inter-Community Hospital Hospice.

Arrangements are under the direction of Reis Chapel in San Luis Obispo.
