He in enlisted Sept. 1775 served 2 mo. as private & drummer at Portsmouth NH and Great Island in Portsmouth Harbor under Capt. Clark in Col. Poor's Regiment. Reenlisted as private in same company for 2 months, marched to Winter Hill near Boston, remained and served 2 mo. longer.

Reenlisted in Capt. Sinclair's company for another 2 mos. Discharged at Bunker Hill, April 1776.

Enlisted as drummer for 12 mos. in Capt.Nathan Brown's company of Col. Long's regiment. Discharged Dec. 1776 on account of lameness [possibly because a wound suffered in the Battle of Bunker Hill.]

In 1777 enlisted as private in Capt. Stephan Dearborn's company of Col. Stickney's regiment; Served at Bennington, Stillwater, Bemis Heights. Discharged Sept. 1777.

On rolls of Capt. Worthen and Col. Peabody as lifer from April 1, 1778 to Jan. 4, 1779.
