Deckerville, 16 May 1945 -- First Lt. William V. Gorringe. Lansing, son in-law of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Cleland. has been liberated from a German prison camp where he had been held since Feb. 24.

Mr. and Mrs. Cleland were informed by Robert A. Turrel, home service chairman of the Sanilac county chapter of the American Red Cross, who had been notified through the International Red Cross. The message that Lieutenant Gorringe had been liberated was the first news received of him by Mrs. Gorringe and Mr. and Mrs. Cleland since he was reported missing in action in Germany Feb. 24.

Mrs. Gorringe is the former Miss Margaret Cleland. She lives in Lansing.
