Although I never knew him as I was a baby when my parents separated, I received deceased veterans benefits as his legal daughter thru marriage in August, 1939 to my mother, Adelaide Sonnee Norkin, after his death in 1946, when I was 6.

I met my grandparents, Harry and Jennie Norkin, in 1952 and they gave me his pictures and Army discharge papers(of which I still have) and his medals. I was in my grandparents will showing that they loved me. My grandfather Harry used to pick meup from my home and take me shopping. I use to regularly visit my grandmother on my way home from my school, Winthrop Jr. H. S. near Remson Ave in Brooklyn. The last time I saw my grandmother before she died was at her house on Ave A in East Flatbush Brooklyn, NY.

My father was honorably discharged and served this country as such. Where he was deployed I dont know, but I intend to get the medal of service offered a few years back to decendants of veterans.
