Tim was the son of Hiram and Bessie (Renfro) Hackett. He married Betty L. (Johnson) Brazee on May 1, 1946, in Macomb. She died Aug. 29, 2010.

He also was preceded by his parents, one grandson, one granddaughter, six brothers and four sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Roselyn (Burton) Clarke; two sons, Harold (Cherylene) Brazee and Tim (Mary) Hackett; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Tim was a farmer and cattleman. He also worked and retired from Canton Works of International Harvester and also retired from MSD. He also had owned and operated a Shell gas station in Cuba and had worked for the State Highway Department. He also had managed the Gale Farm at rural Cuba.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the 5th Division, where he was present at the Battle of the Bulge. During his service, he was a recipient of two Purple Hearts and one Bronze Star.

He was a member of Cuba American Legion Russell Smith Post 533 and Fulton County Farm Bureau, and was a former member of Cuba Masonic Lodge and Canton Moose Lodge.

He had served as president of the Cuba School Board.

Tim enjoyed playing cards, music and dancing, visiting friends, spending time with his grandchildren, fish frys and going to the Fairview Sale Barn.
