Information
During the attack at Loos the men were played over the top by piper Daniel Laidlaw. Despite heavy bombardment and gas discharge Piper Laidlaw continued to play until he fell wounded. Piper Douglas Taylor, who was unable to play due to being wounded in the hand went out and brought in several wounded men who had been gassed. All of the pipers were wounded during the first eighteen months of the campaign.
