aughter of Jas. Stirling, Sr., and Jennet Chamberlain, and wife of Pleasant Hill Carmichael, whom she married in Johnson Co., MO, on 11 Nov. 1841. The Carmichaels had three children--James S., Susan J., and Hamilton Hill--in the 1840s. Both Pleasant Hill and son James served in the Confederate army and both died near Corinth, MS, in 1862. Catherine's same is sometimes spelled "Catharine" in documents.
